Tesla’s launch of oversized energy storage products Megapack can store 3MWH energy
Pingwest Pinwan July 30th. According to Tencent Technology, Tesla today announced the launch of a new giant battery called Megapack, which may replace the “peak” power plant providing electricity when the local power grid load.
Tesla said that Pacific Natural Gas and Electric Power Corporation (PG & E) will deploy several Megapacks in Moslandin, Monterea, California. It is reported that PG & E plans to install more cost -effective energy storage devices in four places, one of which is Montedine in Montere.
Tesla said that each Megapack can store 3MWH at a time, and can connect enough Megapack to produce super energy storage devices with more than 1GWH storage energy. Tesla said it would be enough to think that “each family in San Francisco provides 6 hours of electricity.” Tesla will deliver a fully assembled MEGAPACK for the power company, including “battery module, two -way inverter, thermal management system, exchange main circuit breaker and controller”.
Tesla said that MEGAPACK occupied 40%less, only one -tenth of parts, and the assembly speed is 10 times that of other alternative energy storage solutions.
