With the rapid growth of new energy vehicles worldwide in 2020, the importance of major car companies to new energy technology has reached an unprecedented height. Although many car companies will set a time node for the vigorous development of pure electric vehicles, according to the analysis of Professor Shuai Shijin, professor of the State Key Laboratory of Automotive Safety and Energy Conservation of Tsinghua University, the “Energy-saving and New Energy Vehicle Technology Roadmap 2.0” released by the state in October last year pointed out in detail the necessity of developing hybrid technology.

As Great Wall’s self-developed hybrid technology, Lemon Hybrid DHT can achieve excellent performance and efficiency in full-speed domains and scenarios. At the same time, the entire system architecture includes a set of DHT highly integrated gasoline-electric hybrid system, HEV/PHEV two power architectures, and three sets of powertrains for different class models. It is enough to meet the various needs of Great Wall’s models in the development direction of hybrid technology.

In terms of design structure, the Lemon Hybrid DHT consists of key modules such as 1.5L/1.5T hybrid special engine, dual motor controller, DHT module, and high-specification power battery. Among them, as the “brain” of the entire hybrid system, the dual motor controller in DHT is equipped with a new generation of high computing power Infineon TC38 series processor chips, high computing power and reliability, coupled with Great Wall’s self-developed control algorithm, the entire hybrid system can achieve the optimal system energy flow control.

The DHT module, which includes the reducer, clutch, gear shift mechanism and dual motors, reduces the structural space of the entire hybrid module transmission system by 50% with a high degree of integrated thinking. As a result, the wide adaptability of hybrid modules can be improved.

For example, the motor adopts the high reluctance torque design concept, which reduces the amount of magnet by more than 20% to achieve light weight; Short winding arrangement improves 48th and 96th order high-frequency noise to optimize NVH performance.
In the engine module, the DHT architecture will provide two hybrid special engines of 1.5L/1.5T, of which the maximum power of the 1.5L engine is 75kW, matching the 100kW DHT module, and the comprehensive power of the system is 140-170kW; The maximum power of the 1.5T engine is 115kW, and the combined power of the system will reach 180-240kW when matched with the 130kW DHT module.
In addition to the promotion of HEVs, DHT has also made practical upgrades to the PHEV architecture, which has grown rapidly this year. In the future, Great Wall’s PHEV models will be equipped with high-specification power batteries with an energy density of more than 160Wh/kg and a pure electric cruising range of up to 200km.
Back to the perspective of the market, the new energy market is booming, in exchange for more opportunities for car companies that seize the transformation opportunity, and with it, there is also a further tightening of new energy subsidy policies such as the “Shanghai Implementation Measures for Encouraging the Purchase and Use of New Energy Vehicles” the day before.
