1. Prepare materials and tools first
Materials and tools
○ Photosensitive circuit board x1 pc
○ 1 bottle of ferric chloride x, or x1 pack of eco-friendly etchant
○ Photosensitive plate developer x1 pack
○ Transparent glue x 1 roll
○ Pencil x1
● Table lamp x1
● Glass sheet (thicker the better) x1
● Plastic basin or crisper x1 (note that it must be plastic!!)
● Utility knife x1
● Steel ruler x1
● Electronic scale or balance x1 (unless you want to use all the medicine at once)
● Stopwatches, watches, clocks, can keep time
● Flat head tweezers x1
● Electric drills, table drills, can punch holes. Note that a fine drill is used! About 0.8mm is suitable.
2. Draw and print your circuit diagram!
Mainstream PCB design software includes Protel, OrCAD, Viewlogic, PowerPCB, Cadence PSD, MentorGraphices’ Expedition PCB, Zuken CadStart, Winboard/Windraft/Ivex-SPICE, PCB Studio, TANGO, PCBWizard, ultiBOARD7 and more
3. Developer, etching agent, mold release agent composition list:
Developer:
sodium bicarbonate
The dissolution ratio is 1:70 (20g corresponds to 1.5L water)
The development temperature is between 30 and 40 degrees
Etchant:
Ammonium persulfate
The dissolution ratio is 1:8 (190g corresponds to 1.5L water)
The etching temperature is between 40 degrees and 60 degrees
Mold release agent:
sodium hydroxide
The dissolution ratio is 1:80 (20g corresponds to 1.5L water)
Etching temperature between 40 degrees and 50 degrees
4. General steps
1. Design PCB
2, PCB drawing (copper cladding layer and solder mask)
3. Anti-etching layer exposure
4. Anti-etching layer development
5. Etching
