Hearing Boss Liu’s needs, many suitable models can appear in his mind. Vios, Golf, Polo, Fit and even Santana, Jetta, etc., are all good choices. It just so happened that a friend recently wanted to sell his Fox, and finally found this car for Boss Liu.
Changan Ford Focus hatchback
This is the second-hand Focus I found for Boss Liu, this Focus is a 2007 hatchback 1.8L automatic fashion model, the new car guidance price of 139,800 yuan. The original owner bought the Focus in 2008, but because there are other cars, it has only driven more than 50,000 kilometers. Now because I have to change cars, I changed hands of this Focus.
The procedures for checking the vehicle, the registration date on the driving license and the date of issuance are the same, both in April 2008, the certificate has not been renewed, it is a real Beijing personal first-hand car. Use the driving book to check the condition of the vehicle, and there is currently no traffic violation record.
Check the vehicle registration book, there is no transfer registration record or mortgage registration in the registration column, etc., and the current condition is normal. When inspecting a used car, be sure to check the vehicle’s registration booklet, especially the quasi-new car, if it is still in the mortgage registration status, you need to go through the pressure before you can carry out the transfer process.

This second-hand Focus is the second generation model, which basically established the position of the Focus in the domestic compact car market, and it is also the most classic generation in the Focus family. So much so that when it comes to the third generation of the model, the second generation classic version is still on sale. Turn signals are integrated in the exterior mirrors, and the lampshade has turned yellow as the car ages, proving to be genuine!
This Focus is equipped with twin five-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, which were much more aesthetically shaped more than a decade ago than those of many new models today. All four rims are not scratched, so you don’t have to spend much money to repair them. The four tires were newly replaced by the original owner last year, which saved Boss Liu a fee for replacing tires.
The rear shape of this generation of hatchback Focus is very classic, both rounded and sporty, and very recognizable, I think it is even more beautiful than the current Focus. It is no exaggeration to say that there are really people who choose the second-hand Focus because they like the rear end of this generation of the Focus.
As the star model of the Ford family, the Focus has a very high reputation in handling and power since entering the country, especially the Focus ST and Focus RS, which are loyal to driving and controlling the god car in the eyes of the hobby car. Second, the interior wear is light
For used car inspection, interior inspection is particularly important. By checking the wear and tear of the interior, you can roughly judge the original owner’s habits and the intensity of use of the vehicle.
Although this second-hand Focus is an old car licensed in 2008, the interior is still maintained well because the original owner usually drives less and the intensity of use is not large. Except for a mobile phone holder, there is not much decoration in the car, so it looks relatively neat.

The shape of the steering wheel is relatively old-fashioned, and there are no integrated multi-function buttons, but the grip is full and thick. The CD player has not been modified, it is still an original part, and it can be used normally. If you modify the large-screen car machine, although it costs a lot of money when you change it, it will not bring any improvement to the residual value of this second-hand Focus.
Although I basically don’t use CDs to listen to music now, the AUX interface is reserved in the glove box, and it is quite convenient to connect to mobile phones.
When checking the air conditioner, there is no peculiar smell and abnormal noise, but the refrigeration effect is average, and it should be better after adding fluorine.
There are also no obvious traces of use at the handlebar position, proving that the intensity of use is not large. If the real mileage exceeds 150,000km, it must be worn out more severely.
The control buttons of the windows do not peel paint or shine, and the intensity of use is not large.
The protective film of the makeup lamp has not been torn off, and it is still the original car protective film from more than ten years ago.
The sunroof was a configuration only available in high-end models back then, unlike today’s tens of thousands of yuan cars that give you a panoramic sunroof as standard. When inspecting a used car, pay attention to whether the sunroof can be opened and closed normally, after all, repairing the sunroof is a troublesome thing after all.
The front of this used Focus is equipped with manually adjustable fabric seats, although it is light-colored, but fortunately the original owner has always used seat covers, so it is kept clean.
The rear seats are basically used to bring children, and the new car bought a new child safety seat, so the old child safety seat was also given away with the car.
The remote control key is out of power, and the original owner has not bothered to change the battery because he does not drive the car much, and now he can only use the mechanical key to open the door, and he has to spend another ten yuan to buy a battery.

Third, the body skeleton is not damaged
When inspecting used cars, the investigation of accident cars is essential. After all, if the vehicle has a major collision, safety will be affected, so you can try not to buy an accident car.
Open the engine compartment cover of the vehicle, and comprehensively judge whether there has been a serious collision accident in the front of the car by inspecting the core components such as the water tank frame, fender, shock absorber mount, longitudinal beam, anti-collision beam, engine and gearbox in the engine compartment.
When checking the second-hand Focus, do not run directly to the cab to pull the engine compartment cover, the engine compartment cover of the Focus is opened with a key, and must first screw to the left and then to the right to open, is a more bizarre design.
The original label of the tank frame is still there, proving that it is still the original and has not been replaced. If there has been a serious collision at the front of the car, the replacement of the tank frame can be seen.
The inside of the wings on both sides is relatively flat, and there are no traces of sheet metal repairs, proving that there have been no serious collisions on both sides of the front of the car.
Although the engine is covered with dust and sludge, there is no obvious oil leakage and oil leakage, which is relatively rare for an older American car.
The shock absorber mount is commonly known as the “top of the tower”, and if this position is damaged, it will affect the overall driving experience. Checking the shock absorber mounts of this used Focus, there are no traces of sheet metal repairs and weld repairs on the left and right sides, proving that there has been no damage.
Open the luggage compartment lid and check the rear of the used Focus for serious rear-end collisions. Focus as a compact sedan, coupled with the hatchback shape, the luggage compartment space is still large enough.
Opening the spare tire cover, the luggage compartment floor is very flat, there are no traces of sheet metal repairs, proving that it has not been cut and welded repairs. The spare tire has basically no obvious signs of use.
There are no obvious traces of knocking and sheet metal repair on the rear panel of the luggage compartment, proving that there has been no damage, and there has been no serious rear-end collision at the rear.
Check the chassis of this second-hand Focus, the whole is still unconventional, there are no obvious underpins or traces of rust.
Fourth, the control is fun
The last step of second-hand car testing is road test, through which you can understand the vehicle’s powertrain, chassis suspension and steering, brake system can work normally, and comprehensively judge the condition of the whole vehicle.
This second-hand Focus is equipped with a 1.8L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum output of 91kW (124Ps) and a peak torque of 161Nm. Matched to the engine is a 4AT gearbox, which can feel the shifting action during driving, but it does not give discomfort. Also because the use intensity is not large, the operating feel of the gearbox still has a certain texture, not loose. However, only 4 forward gears greatly affect fuel economy, so this generation of the Focus is notoriously fuel-efficient. Even with the current 1.5L three-cylinder engine, the Focus’s fuel consumption performance is average.
However, on this second-hand Focus, you can still feel the control genes of the Ford family. The most obvious is the pointing accuracy of the steering wheel, which allows the vehicle to flexibly drive according to the driver’s intentions and correct the direction without being used to correct the direction back and forth. The steering force of the steering wheel is also relatively calm and easy to operate.
Due to the low tire pressure of the tires, this used Focus performs well on the road comfortably, and most of the shock can be filtered out by the chassis suspension when passing speed bumps. When passing through continuous bumpy roads, you can still experience that the chassis suspension shows a certain toughness, and there is no loose feeling.
When driving at high speed, the chassis suspension gives people a relatively calm driving feeling, and there is no mistracking. In addition, the sound insulation of the whole car is not bad, so the overall driving experience is definitely worth it for a second-hand car of more than 10,000 yuan.
Combined with the real condition of this second-hand Focus, the whole car is painted, local sheet metal repair, no damage to the body skeleton, the interior is slightly worn, and the apparent mileage is true, and it is judged to be a B-class general second-hand car.
